Do you have a closet full of clothes you never wear? Perhaps you love thrifting but don’t need to further expand your wardrobe. Or maybe you have surplus materials from your own boutique? Rather than giving it away, selling the clothes on the cheap or tossing your closet cleanout […]
I’ve been a sewing hoarder for many years and have reached a point that I need funds to supplment my income (SS). I have some nice ready made clothes and usually have yard sales, etc. but since the pandemic that has be pretty much stopped and its winter here. I would like to sell online but don’t really know how to set it up and don’t really know how it works. I also do a lot of up cycling for myself and others. I would love to sew and use all of the fabric that I have saved and kinda down size my house, so my kids don’t have to do it when I’m gone. Any suggestions for making money with something I love to do?
Absolutely Paula! That could be a great source of side income for you with very little overhead. I’d suggest checking out Etsy and doing a few searches to see what’s available that is similar to your planned offerings and to help you with pricing. It’s inexpensive to open your own Etsy store and list a few items to see what sells. You could also check to see if there are any local craft markets or weekend sales where you could try out a booth to display your wares. Good luck, you can do this!
