Well, today was the last day of school for my grandchildren! I have started a list of what we will be doing for the summer, and sewing/crafting is at the top of the list for a couple of the kids!
I’d mentioned in an earlier post about how awesome the E-Z Sew Sewing Cards for kids ages 3-7! The sewing cards keep them busy for hours and they LOVE to show their friends how to “sew” using the sewing cards. We have only a FEW of the packaged ready-to-ship E-Z Sew Sewing Cards left – they have been flying off the shelf! If you have children in the 3-7 age group, these sewing cards would be perfect for them. Each package of sewing cards have a certain theme (cowboy, space, farm, etc) and each package has 6 different items to sew according to that theme. Not only do these cards give them something constructive to do for hours, they also love to “teach” their friends how to “sew”!
If you would prefer, we also have the E-Z Sew Sewing cards as downloadable printable cards at SewWithSarah.com — the sewing cards have the same theme (farm, cowboy, sea scene, etc) as the ready to ship packages — the difference is that you would print the pages on card stock, then punch the black dots around the outside with a single hole punch, making the spots for the children to sew.
This could be the beginning of a lifelong passion for the children. After sewing with the E-Z Sew Sewing cards for a time, you can move on to some hand stitching projects, then on to learning how to use the sewing machine. The earlier you start children on sewing and crafting, the better chance they will LOVE doing the projects, and want to continue!
