Is It Too Early For Holiday Sewing?

September 7, 2009 by Sarah J. Doyle Leave a Comment

It seems like only a few weeks ago we were doing our “Happy New Year / Jan 1 postings” and now here it is already September!  Turn around a couple times and Christmas and the Holiday Season will be upon us.

Which  brings up a good question — is it too early to start drumming up Holiday sewing customers now?

With the tremendous popularity of Denise’s “Anywhere T” at Clotilde’s, (we’ve heard that this blouse pattern has been one of their most popular ever!) I’ve decided to jump ahead of everybody and get started on my Holiday sewing samples!

I figure early September is NOT too early to start getting people thinking about those upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas parties and get togethers.  I’m in the process of making a couple of the Anywhere T’s in slinky, glittery, perfect for the Holidays type fabrics. Then I’m going to position them in my customer sewing area with a little decorative sign that says “Order early for the Holiday Season!.

Don’t forget to check Clotilde’s new September catalog (page 35) to check out the Anywhere T pattern —- third consecutive catalog the pattern has gotten a prominent position in the catalog.  We think your customers (as well as yourself) will find this to be a super “anywhere” top — and remember it comes in two size ranges – S-XL  and 1x-5x size (most patterns don’t go that high in the “x” sizes).
