Here we go again – recycle, recycle, recycle! I’ve said before that more of the sewing and craft items in my customer waiting area are made from recycled garments and fabrics than from “new” fabrics. I’m finding that I can charge a little bit less for the items made from recycled materials, therefore they appear to be great deals to my customers. If you haven’t tried doing “recycle” in your sewing and crafts, you’re missing out on a big profit maker.
LuvinTheMommyhood site has a great tutorial on making yoga pants out of old shirt. They say to dig around your closets for those knit shirts that you can cut the sleeves off and repurpose the shirt for summer wear, and at the same time use the sleeves for Yoga Pants. OR, raid your husband’s closet or check out flea markets and Good Will for some very cheap shirts.
Wouldn’t this be a great item to have in the customer waiting area for sale!!! These could be made so cheaply that you’d almost be giving them away to the customers and still be making a great profit.
If you have any other sewing and / or craft items that you make from recycled materials, we’d love to hear about them.
Thanks so much for the link love Sarah! I really appreciate it!
