Getting traffic to your website / blog is of utmost importance in order to make sales. If people don’t know you’re there, it doesn’t matter what you have to sell, you won’t make any money.
There are a few ways that you can increase the traffic to your website very quickly and with NO expenditure of your limited funds.
** Sign up and join online forums that are in your area of business. There are many forums and communities in a wide variety of topic areas. Do a search for those that interest you, such as “sewing forums”, or “plus size clothing forums”. You can add your valuable information to these places, and your bio will let the people know where your website / blog are. Many of these forums allow individuals to post their latest projects, and you can comment on projects already posted. You’ll find yourself getting a lot of new traffic – and new customers.
** Get your website / blog reviewed by a major blog in your area of business. For example, our SewingBusiness blog has a category set up for “business interviews”, where we interview those sewers and crafters that we feel would give inspiration to those who read our blog. In addition, we do “website reviews”, where we review sewing, crafting, sewing machine and fabric sites that we would like to send our readers to. By having us do either a website review or a business interview of your work, your site, your etsy store, etc, just send us an email to submit@SewingBusiness.com and we’ll be happy to do the interview / review AND send hundreds of qualified readers to YOUR site /blog. Remember your name / etsy store / blog / website stay in view of those who visit long after the initial post is done, as well as increasing your search engine ranking.
** Writing articles is another great way to get word out about your business / website / blog. Yahoo has a great listing of articles that can be added to websites for additional “content”, so your articles could be among those at yahoo for others to see. Your author information in the box at the bottom of the article always remains regardless of who may use your “content” on their site.
As you can see, there are many ways to generate traffic to your site — you will be spending time instead of dollars for the above suggestions, and the end result will be getting new customers and sales!
