Cloth Diapers Making a Comeback & Millions in Sales

June 17, 2008 by S. Denise Hoyle Leave a Comment

Linda Byerline started using cloth diapers in 2001 out of concern for the health of her premature baby daughter.   The cloth diapers did seem to help her daughter who spent the first four months of her life in the hospital due to chronic lung disease.  Byerline couldn’t find any with a snug enough fit however, and began to make her own.

Byerline started selling her version with a waterproof lining that she calls Happy Heinys on eBay at first.  Now Byerline estimates that she has sold over $6 million in cloth diapers and other baby products since she started making them in 2001.  Read more about her story and how cloth diapers benefit the environment here or click here http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/20080612-9999-1ez12heiny.html
