Entries will be judged based on the creativity of the design, the use of a sewing machine in the creation process, and the description of how the scarf represents the creator. The grand prize is a Singer ProFinish Serger and the runner up prize is a Singer Universal Carrying Case plus a $25 gift certificate to the Maker Shed.

Be sure to enter before midnight on November 23rd, and the winners will be announced by Monday, November 30th. Visit the Me, My Scarf and I Contest page for official rules, or check out the contest Flickr group for pictures of the current entries.

Oh boy! Do I love contests! And this one is a super idea that Sewing.Org is sponsoring.

According to Sewing.Org, the reason for this “reuse, remake and restyle” contest is to implement environmentally-sound sewing into your life.

The contest runs through September 30, so there is still time to get your entries in to them.

Have you designed a clever method to reuse a garment that you made and no longer wear? Do you shop thrift stores and garage sales for designer garments that you restyle into bags, totes or ‘vintage’ style garments for yourself? Have you found a way to remake an everyday product into something unique and eco-thrifty? Sew up your best ideas for National Sewing Month and you could be a lucky winner!

Check out the rules at Sewing.Org and enter your “reused, remade and restyled” items.

Good luck!
