Sarah J. Doyle ~ Pattern Maker, Instructor & Author

Sarah learned to make patterns from her own measurements through a Chinese interpreter at a local pattern making school while her husband was stationed in Taiwan for the Air Force. Her friends all wanted her to teach them once she got the hang of it so she wrote up instruction manuals and began teaching classes more than 30 years ago. She now has over twenty books she’s written on custom patternmaking techniques, sewing businesses, and other sewing topics, as well as several lines of custom specialty patterns.

S. Denise Hoyle ~ Author, Instructor & Pattern Designer

Denise is Sarah’s daughter and she learned much about sewing and pattern design from her mother while growing up. She started her own business in high school and made extra money sewing for people and doing alterations from home for other businesses like local dry cleaners. Denise later also became interested in creating patterns and has since authored a number of specialty sewing books.

While sewing is Denise’s first love, the world of electronic commerce also fascinates her, and that interest led her to pursue a Masters Degree in eBusiness and Technology. Now Denise spends her time teaching business subjects to online college students, in addition to sharing her love of sewing with others through classes, instructional books, and unique pattern designs.

Learn more about Denise at http://multiplemayhem.com, a blog about her five kids including three year old quadruplets, visit her at http://denisehoyle.com, or check out some of her pattern designs at http://patterns2go.com.
