Have You Tried Doing Clothing Alterations As A Business?

We have lately sold an unusually large number of our StartAndOperateAProfitableClothingAlterationsBusiness manual, and it just dawned on me why this would be so popular!  A clothing alteration business is probably the easiest business to start, not to mention that anybody that already has a sewing machine, thread, etc are ready to start the business.

The only thing necessary for those with a sewing machine, would be our manual giving all the ins and outs of how to start the business – where to go to get customers – how to get free advertising for the business – resources for getting your sewing notions and supplies wholesale – the whole nine yards, as they say.

With the economy as it is, many people are digging clothes out of the closets instead of buying new ones.  Many times the clothes brought out of the closet may need repairs, and those minor repairs are MUCH cheaper than running out to buy a whole new outfit.

If you could use a little extra money, or a lot of extra money, starting a clothing alteration business may be just what you’re looking for.

Hi :) LOVE your blog :) I just ordered the manual. I have been in business for over six years but I can always learn something NEW :) AND, I can always increase my income too :) In my area there are a few ‘under the table’ seamstresses, as in, NOT legal, professional businesses. They charge extremely low rates and do lower quality work. They want some ‘extra’ cash. I do this to earn a living. I need to amp up my advertising. I have NO WORRIES if the IRS comes knocking at ‘my’ door :) :) Advise people to be patient and persevere. I am getting approximately 70% of my customers via referrals now. The rest from a $30 a month Yellow Page print ad and FREE online search listings :) Always do your BEST work and offer a 100% guarantee. Happy Weekend :) Cheryl :)
