Child’s Activity Bag Tutorial

Winter days can get VERY long for preschoolers and toddlers when it’s so cold, rainy or snowy that they can’t go outside — or can’t stay out very long!  “Cabin fever” can set it very quickly!

I found a great activity bag tutorial over at ModaBakeShop for kids.  Thanks Melissa Ann for providing this tutorial.   By the looks of the snow on the ground I believe it really is time for the activity bags!

I have FIVE little grandchildren (4 year old quadruplets and their big brother, 5 year old Jacob), so while Melissa’s activity bag is so awesome looking, last winter I settled on an easier method to make the five I needed.

The “Pre-School” bags I made were (and still are) a great hit with the kids.  I guess you could say I took the “lazy” way out — bought five of the recycle bags from Office Depot, decorated them for each child, according to the colors they like, etc and here are the quick and easy activity bags I made.

We later added the name of each child on the bags so they would learn to recognize their names.

We keep coloring books, markers, write-on wipe-off books an crayons in the bags and even on nice days outside, the kids ask for their “pre school” bags!
