Make Your Own Pillow Cases
When the “white sale” comes around, or you just happen to see sheets on sale, just buy the top and bottom sheets – forget the more expensive pillow cases. You can purchase one twin size flat sheet and make 4 pillow cases that will end up costing you less than one third of the price of pillow cases from the store. The diagram below shows you how to lay out the twin size flat sheet and cut the four pillowcases.
By making your own pillowcases, you can use the same color as the top and bottom sheets you purchased on sale, or use a coordinating color. If your house is like ours, a couple of people in the family like to stack two pillows on top of each other for sleeping. Soooo, by making four pillow cases from a matching flat sheet, I don’t have to go digging for extra pillowcases.
