More Market Tote Bags
We’ve done posts about market bags, “green” grocery shopping bags, and a variety of tote bags.
I think the more tote bag tutorials we can offer, the more choices people have — and, it just might get people into the mood to go ahead and make some of the grocery tote bags. Let’s all help cut the waste – bring our own bags to the store and say “neither” when they ask “paper or plastic?”.
Jordynn Mackenzie has her own website and blog with several tutorials — this one that features a market tote is very clear and would not be hard at all to make. This is made from a pillow case. Wow! You can get pillow cases cheap at Good Will, at flea markets, yard sales, etc. You could make them in a wide variety of colors – maybe even do a little embroidery on them and have a great selling item, or have on hand to use yourself. The bag is made so it can be rolled up and stashed when you’re finished with it.
And, speaking of making a cheap tote bag, don’t forget the tutorial we have for the patchwork market bag at PatternsThatFitYou.com — you can use up some of your scraps and also have a variety of colors / prints for your grocery tote bags.
