Springtime Means Picnic Time

With spring breaks from school and warmer weather here, one just can’t help but want to hit the road to a park or someplace for a picnic.  We’ve already taken our grandkids to a couple of parks to play, and of course to have our picnic.  They LOVE picnics, and we usually throw in a few zip lock sandwich bags with a few Cheetos for their “snack” on the way home from the park.

With picnics on the mind, we really need to get out the sewing machine to sew up some spring/summer placemats or cozies for the water bottles, or if you’re a crocheter, you can put together some of these watermelon placemats and napkin holders that are one of the favorites at Patterns2Go.com

The gusty winds that come with spring may entice you to sew up a number of these great looking headbands.

The tutorial for making these fabric headband covers comes from Craftzine.com blog — great looking headbands.

You might want to make up some soft blocks for the smaller children to play with while at the picnic and let the big kids do the “real” kick ball game.  Check out the tutorial for making soft baby blocks at PatternsThatFitYou.com — they sew up pretty quickly so you’ll have them ready for the picnic, or to put out in your customer waiting area.

Get a little bit ahead on your regular sewing and crafting so you can enjoy a weekend outdoors with the family!
