We All Need a “Just For Me” Day

When work commitments, responsibilities at home and other things that require our attention get so overwhelming, it’s nearly impossible to think straight, let alone try to “work through” everything that demands our time.

At times when you feel like you’re totally over your head with “stuff”, you really need to consider a “just for me” day —- at least a “just for me” HOUR!   I’ve found that even though I don’t have time for a minute for myself, if I just close my eyes, suck it up, and TAKE the “just for me” hour, it’s amazing how much better I feel, and how much more productive I become after taking just a short break from everything.

So, what can you do with your “just for me” hour??  Personally I have a couple of great suggestions that really work well for me.  I like to get my nails done – you know, the fancy stuff – but I refuse to spend the time it takes to go to a nail shop and get my nails done.  I’ve found the perfect thing – Polymer Nail Art Designs, available from  These fingernail designs are very inexpensive, dozens to choose from, easy to apply and look great for weeks!  WHOOHOO!  I feel like a new person already!

My next favorite thing to do is to take a nice relaxing warm bath.  Try a bath using Natural Aromatherapy Essential Oils from the Etsy store Cottage Garden Therapi.  They have so many wonderful fragrances, and my favorite is the Lavender Vanilla Bath Salt.

If you haven’t already made several book covers for the books you’ll want to read while soaking in the tub, visit the Sewing With Leather website and get a few of their book cover kits.

You could also grab a cup of coffee or tea and just sit on the back porch for 30 minutes, listening to the birds and looking at the flowers you planted on a previous “just for me” hour.

Ok, now it’s time to get back to work.  I actually feel more like working and have pretty much “sorted” things out in my head and feel like I’m gonna survive!
